Francois grew up in Worcester and completed his schooling at Paarl Gymnasium. Francois graduated from Stellenbosch University in 1984, he then completed his articles and practiced at a large Cape Town based law firm until 2004 when he joined Miltons. Francois managed the Claremont branch until he retired as an active partner middle 2023 but continues to serve as a consultant to the firm.
